I am 29.
I live with my husband of seven years and our four children in suburban Minnesota. (T, 1/27/99; M, 3/23/01; H, 4/17/06; E, 12/3/08)
My husband and I met at Starbucks.
Two of our children are from my husband's first marriage, making me a stepmom.
Two of our children we had together.
I started this blog in the summer of 2005 as an unemployed, stay at home stepmom with way too much free time on my hands. (That is NOT a joke.)
In 2007, I changed the blog name and moved the archives in a quest for some anonymity for my kids. Some of the things I wrote prior to 2007 can be found here.
Fast forward to 2010, two more children, the loss of my mom when I was 25 and my blog has changed and evolved to a community and more of an outlet than I ever imagined.
Some great opportunities have come my way because of it, for starters, advertising, sponsors and giveaways.
I have done some freelance writing for several local publications including the Minneapolis Star Tribune (in addition to guest blogging on Cribsheet).
I was hired in November 2010 as a writer for Patch.
Our family and my blog have been also profiled in both the Minneapolis Star Tribune and the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
In 2009 I had my first book contribution published.
We were considered by the Dr. Phil show in the fall of 2009 for a show on stepfamilies. We weren't chosen because we're too happy. And that's ok!
In December 2010, my son's 4th birthday party was profiled in Minnesota Parent.
Most of all I blog because I like to write, I like to process and I like to remember. I want to share my stories. And remember them for my kids.
