I got a little kit at Michaels that has the "learning to knit" book, two sets of needles, and other basic stuff... I think it is only $25.. Then I got a couple things of yarn, sat down and practiced the different knits that it shows... I think I have 20 or so little squares that I used to "practice" with.. Cookies!!!<BR/>For baking like that, I normally start the first week in Dec. and make up a couple batches at a time. I make them up and decorate them while the kids are at school, as a nice treat for after school. They say they love walking through the door smelling the cookies...
